About Rick Rossi; a multi-woodwind instrumentalist has three nominations for Grammy Awards in the category of jazz saxophone and won this prestigious honor in 2000 for his performance on “The Dirty Boogie.” His additional nominations were in the categories of “Best Jazz Solo” and “Best Jazz Composition,” but Rick’s thorough woodwind mastery extends well beyond jazz saxophone.

Rick’s expertise in performance includes clarinet, flute, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophone. This multi-talented performer and composer has arranged for film, television, and assorted artists. He has done extensive work with The Brian Setzer Orchestra and has a Grammy-nominated composition for the P. Rainey Coalition to his credit. Besides his own extensive personal recordings, he has appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Regis and Kathie Lee, MTV, VH-1, and Good Morning America.

He has worked in famous venues around the world with Natalie Cole, Bobby Caldwell, The Brian Setzer Orchestra and Shakira. The list of legendary artists he has performed with includes Rosemary Clooney, Tommy Dorsey, Bobbie Womack, George Duke, Englebert Humperdink, Cher, Stanley Clarke, Tony Bennett, Ray Charles, and Frank Sinatra.

His film work included the blockbuster feature, “Monster-In-Law”, starring Jane Fonda and Jennifer Lopez and the comic splash, Wedding Crashers starring Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, and Vince Vaughn. Rick has a bachelor’s degree in Woodwind and Performance from the University of Delaware and a master’s in performance and composition from the University of Akron in 1983.
